David Cook - Shareholder
Bio
David is a patent attorney and has represented multinational corporations and individual inventors alike. David’s perspective on intellectual property is as unique as the path that brought him to the law and comes from both the wisdom he has developed and the tools he has used along the way to become one of the best patent attorneys in the Rocky Mountain area. From his time on a horse pushing cattle, building fences, and throwing a rope, David learned hard work and perseverance, and that a job is not done until it is done right. Construction and framing work taught David the precision of a steel hammer saves time and that it is important to precisely plan for the end from the beginning to accomplish his goals. And banking technology tools for documentation and legal compliance as a banker taught him responsibility for the affairs of others in a fiduciary capacity. David uses these lessons every day to strategically prepare patent and trademark applications and further his clients’ interests.
David has experience with patents in the electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, biological, and chemical arts. Using experience from the saddle to the tools at the bank, David knows a little something about almost everything and immediately appreciates the breadth of possibilities in new inventions.
David graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law, leading the school in several mock ADR competitions, and further participating in various regional competitions. David’s undergraduate work was completed at Utah State University emphasizing the biological sciences.
